Parking bay suspension request

You can apply for a parking bay suspension if you need to park your vehicle in an area with parking restrictions while you carry out work or require space to attend a special event. For example, for building work, home or office removals or a funeral.

We need at least 5 working days' notice to consider a request.

Charges for a suspension

Charges for suspensions are:

• £29.00 per bay (10 metre length) suspended

Worthing: outside Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ):

Charges for suspensions are:

• £35.00 per bay (10 metre length) suspended

Worthing: inside Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ):

Charges for suspensions are:

• £35.00 per bay (10 metre length) suspended
• plus a daily charge of £10 for each pay and display bay suspended

Please note, within the CPZ in Worthing the following applies:

• charges will be waived for weddings or funerals, or for charitable organisations (on-street only)
• if your request requires a whole car park to be suspended, the fee of the suspension will be based on the potential loss of income

Please note:

• the cost of the suspension covers the administration, erection of the suspension notices, and loss of parking revenue for the duration of the suspension
• whilst the Council will endeavour to ensure compliance, we cannot be responsible for drivers who do not adhere to the suspension
