Volunteer in your local park
Would you like to give some of your time to care for our parks?
This is a great way to meet people and connect with nature. We're always keen to receive offers of support and welcome you to our Volunteer Mornings. You can expect a friendly welcome and expert support from our council gardeners and rangers.
What's taking place? We're hosting volunteer mornings where people can help us with gardening and maintenance tasks such as weeding, planting, pruning, watering, edging, raking and painting.
Who can attend? Anyone is welcome to take part in the volunteer sessions - the more, the better! Children must be accompanied by adults. These are free drop-in sessions, just turn up on the day. You can also let us know a little more about you and/or your group by registering your interest (below).
Do I need to bring anything with me? All equipment will be provided by our parks team, but please feel free to bring any additional bits, such as your own gardening gloves, with you. We recommend wearing suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
Current opportunities (with the councils' parks team)
We're looking for volunteers to support our council parks team working within our parks to make them even nicer to visit. It's a great way to give back to the green space whilst meeting like-minded people and connecting to nature.
Beach House Park, Worthing, BN11 2DB:
- When are the sessions happening? We run sessions on the first Tuesday of every month, as well as on some Saturdays, from 10am to midday.
- Where do we meet? Meet our parks team by the Green Flag award near the Palm Court Pavilion in the centre of Beach House Park.
