Travel and transport
Thriving places
Adur & Worthing Councils are encouraging residents who live and work in Adur and Worthing to travel sustainably. Active travel, such as cycling and walking, can improve mental and physical health. Also, low carbon and sustainable travel can reduce pollution and improve safety.
Active travel and sustainable transport
A sustainable transport system makes the use of low-carbon, active travel accessible and enjoyable for all. Across Adur and Worthing, there are pedestrian and cycle routes centred around residential areas and tourist destinations. There is a considerable bus and train network linking different towns and districts.
We continue to work with partners (like WSCC) to encourage active and sustainable travel across Adur and Worthing. This includes working on projects to improve cycle routes and infrastructure, affordability of electric vehicles and improving pedestrian safety, including around schools and green spaces.
