Renaturing in Adur
Adur Recreation Ground
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter bunds
- under trees
- in the area to the west where tree sapling planting has taken place
Buckingham Park
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
- a band across the middle of the park and out to Ravensbourne Avenue
Croft Avenue Rest Gardens - Southwick Square Gardens
The beds to the east will be mown, the beds to the west and the perimeter edges will be unmown for renaturing.
Cromleigh Recreation Ground
The majority of this site will be unmown to allow for renaturing with the playground, a football area and a path remaining mown.
Cross Road Rest Garden
The main area of the garden will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
- the main unmown area is in the north east of the garden
Elm Grove Open Space
The areas around the playground and the footpaths will be mown with the east section and behind the playground fencing being unmown to allow for renaturing.
Fishersgate Recreation Ground
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
Greenacres
The perimeter edges will be mown and alongside the tarmac paths.
Halewick Park
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
Hamble Recreation Ground
The play area of the field to the south of the play area and the courts will be mown.
The field area to the west of the perimeter to the east and several circular areas to the north of the playground will be unmown to allow for renaturing.
Kingston Beach
The area surrounding the lighthouse besides the road and footpath to the rowing club and alongside the western boundary will be mown.
The rest of the site will be unmown to allow for rewilding.
Lancing Manor Park
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
- around the perimeter of the bowling green
Larkfield
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's north and west perimeter edges
- two areas to the east and west of the playground
Malthouse Meadow
The entirety of this greenspace will be unmown allowing for renaturing with conservation grazing being the main source of grass management done at this site.
Manor Park Gardens
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges, with mown entry points
Middle Road Recreation Ground
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's south, west and north perimeter edges
- a block in the south area of grass below the playground
Mile Oak Road Open Space
The areas around at the entrance to the site and including the playground will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow for renaturing:
- around the perimeter edges
- behind the playground
- over the raised area to the north east of the site entrance
Park Avenue
The majority of this site will be left unmown for renaturing with a footpath mown in around the site and the road.
Parklands Park (Southlands Village Green)
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's north perimeter edge, and the raised mounds
Quayside
The area around the playground and the northern field will be mown with the perimeter edges and the field to the east being left unmown for renaturing.
Shoreham Beach Green
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- the areas of bunding around the park's perimeter edges
- two circular areas on the southern green in both of the northern corners
Sompting Recreation Ground
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges with mown in entrances
- underneath the pylon
- two areas to either side of the changing block
Southwick Green
The main area of the park will be mown.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing around the park's south, west and northern perimeter edges.
Southwick Recreation Ground
The main area of the park will be mown, including the playground and the bike area.
There will be unmown areas to allow renaturing:
- around the park's perimeter edges
- under trees
- along the raised mounds
- areas immediately to the north and south of the bottom tarmac footpath
St Julian's Lane
The main area of this green space will be mown, with a small strip to the south left for renaturing.
The Ham Skatepark
The main areas of this green space will be mown.
The perimeter edges, the raised area surrounding the bowl and the area of grass to the east of the park will be left unmown for renaturing with a footpath cut in.
The Meads
The main area of the park will be mown.
The hill to the north west corner will be unmown area to allow renaturing.
Windlesham Gardens
The main area of the greenspace will be mown.
The areas on the corners of Mill Lane and Ravens Road will be unmown areas to allow renaturing with the areas beside the footpath still cut to allow for ease of access.
