Northbrook Pond
Romany Road,
Worthing,
West Sussex
General Information
Also known as Durrington Pond, this is the remnant of a much larger Northbrook Farm pond. It was set within orchards of which just one large old pear tree remains.
The grassland is maintained as a meadow and the pond periodically dredged. The scrub areas are coppiced by Worthing Conservation Volunteers to maintain its value to wildlife and provide cover for nesting aquatic birds.
