Additional funding secured for Colonnade House in Worthing
Released: Tuesday, 25 February 2025
Thank you to everyone that came along to Colonnade House or filled out the online survey as part of our consultation on future support for Worthing's creative hub.
We launched the consultation as part of our work to maintain Colonnade House's success at bringing creatives and the community together, while finding new funding opportunities to ensure future growth.
The Adur & Worthing Trust, which runs and manages Colonnade House, has committed additional funding so that the gallery and studio space can continue to operate as usual for the rest of 2025. This gives us more time to continue to bid for outside funding to ensure the continuation of our town's creative hub.
In January the Colonnade House team hosted a series of in-person events and workshops with artists, creatives, businesses and community organisations to learn more about the challenges the gallery faces, celebrate its many successes, and play an active role in shaping its future.
Over 250 people shared their thoughts in person and more than 120 people have filled out the online survey so far - with many more engaging with the consultation via email and social media. The Colonnade House team were especially grateful to the creative community for donating their time and expertise to suggest ways forward for the gallery.
Plenty of insightful feedback on what Colonnade House does well for emerging artists and the community, as well as creative ideas on what's missing from the hub's current offerings, what it should focus on in the future, and how it can help Worthing become more creative and inclusive were shared with the team.
The online survey is open until 28th February 2025, so there's still time to share your thoughts.
There's lots of exhibitions and events taking place in the gallery this February, including a queer photography portraiture exhibition as part of LGBTQ History Month. To find out more see:
