New homes for our residents: Daniel Close, Lancing
About the site
Our former garage compound off Daniel Close in Lancing is being transformed with the construction of new council homes for Adur residents.
The site was often used for flytipping and the garages were falling into disrepair so we are replacing them with 7 two-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom homes, with parking and gardens.
After the sites have been cleared and the foundations have been prepared, the new houses will be assembled by our contractor, Boutique Modern, using factory-built modules - a modern method of construction which means less waste plus far less disruption from building work for citizens living nearby.
The new houses will be highly insulated and therefore will be energy efficient and cheaper to run for our future tenants.
We're championing the modern methods of construction (MMC) approach, such as the use of structural insulated panels and modular house-building techniques, throughout our new projects.
The new homes are being funded from the sale of other council houses to tenants, known as Right to Buy receipts. This money is ring-fenced, meaning it's specifically set aside for securing new, affordable homes in Adur.
