Current applications and consultations

The terms of application for some forms of licensing require public consultation and, where relevant representation is received, a hearing by the licensing authority:

  • Adur District Council is the licensing authority for Southwick, Shoreham and Lancing.
  • Worthing Borough Council is the licensing authority for the borough of Worthing.

In this section is a list of the applications, categorised by type, that are outstanding and other licensing policy documents that the councils are currently consulting on or awaiting hearings:

All the applications and policy documents can be viewed in full at the Licensing Unit.

Unless otherwise noted all licensing hearings are held, in public, those relating to premises in:

  • Adur: at the Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5WU
  • Worthing: at Worthing Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN11 1HA

Caution for members of the public:

  • Those making representation regarding an application under the Licensing Act 2003 should note that all relevant representations received are forwarded without redaction to the applicant to allow full disclosure and any subsequent mediation.
  • In addition, they may become public documents and could be published in their entirety in the report that accompanies an application or any subsequent appeal hearing.
  • It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is £5,000.
