Draft housing strategy consultation
We'd like to hear your views on our draft housing strategy.
Many of our residents experience real challenges and difficulties because of the national housing crisis.
Adur District Council and Worthing Borough councils have made commitments to tackling these challenges, ensuring that wherever possible, everyone has a safe, secure and sustainable home.
To support and deliver these ambitions a new housing strategy is being proposed. The housing strategy outlines the challenges we face, and sets out our proposed priorities or missions for the next five years. These are:
- Making sure all our existing homes are safe, of good quality and are sustainable (they are affordable to run and have a low carbon footprint).
- Ensuring there is enough genuinely affordable housing.
- Preventing homelessness and providing proactive early help for those that need it, with our partners and communities.
- People are healthy, resilient and resourceful. They can access the right help when they need it.
- Providing our citizens with the accessible services they need.

The consultation is open from 30th October to midnight on Friday 20th December 2024.
