On the back of your bill you will find details of your monthly instalments. If you already pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit your payments will automatically continue and you do not need to do anything.

How much has my Council Tax gone up by for 2025/26?
How much your Council Tax has increased by will depend on where you live, due to local changes:
- Lancing: +4.8%
- Sompting: +4.7%
- Shoreham, Southwick and Coombes: +4.8%
- Worthing: +4.8%
These increases are made up of:
- an increase to the district/borough council element of:
- 2.9% in Adur
- 4.4% for Adur special expenses
- 2.9% in Worthing
- an increase of 4.9% to the West Sussex County Council element
- an increase of 5.5% to the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner element
- an increase of 7.3% to the Lancing Parish element
- a decrease of -0.5% to the Sompting Parish element

You can sign up to online billing to receive your bills by email or be able to view in your Council Tax account online:
I would like to increase my Council Tax instalments from 10 to 12 months
Council Tax is usually split into 10 monthly payments, or instalments. However, you can choose to spread the payments over 12 months. If you wish to discuss your Council Tax instalments please get in touch to discuss:
I have received a letter referring to Council Tax but it's not my Council Tax bill?
This may be your Council Tax Support award letter, explaining how much help is being paid towards your Council Tax.
Your Council Tax bill will arrive separately.
I get full Council Tax Support but have received a Council Tax bill. Does this mean I still have to pay?
If you check the back of your bill you will see if there are any instalments that you need to pay.
My bill shows I have a balance owing for a previous year?
All 2025/26 Council Tax bills are printed during February.
A payment may still be awaiting collection via your payment method after the bill is printed. You may owe an amount from a previous year's bill.
