There are a number of residents' associations (also known as community associations, community centres or action groups) across Adur and Worthing. They are listed alphabetically below:


Adur associations/groups

There are four local, independent community associations in the district. They serve as a focus for many activities of interest to people of all ages. These associations, which are supported by Adur District Council, run community centres that provide venues for various group meetings. Everyone is welcome to call in to find out more about what is happening in their area.

Broadwater (Worthing) Community Association

  • Aims: raise funds to build a community centre in Broadwater for the use of all the populace; run the Broadwater Parish Rooms; conduct fund raising events, and weekly Bingo on Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.

Charmandean Residents' Association

    • To protect the interests, civic and otherwise of Charmandean & Area residents
    • To develop and improve its amenities
    • To encourage growth of community spirit though events
    • To keep residents updated with the latest news on community matters
  • Membership requirements: £5 per household. Private residences only. Membership is open to all homes on the Charmandean estate plus those in Hill Barn Road heading North towards Fifth Avenue to include all roads off Hill Barn Road. It is also open to those homes on the North side of the A27 Upper Brighton Road between the Grove Lodge roundabout and the first et of traffic lights, to include Pines Avenue and Beeches Avenue.

Findon Valley Residents' Association (FVRA)

Friends of Homefield Park

Goring Chase Residents' Association Ltd

South Coast Italian Association (SCIA)

NWDRA (New West Durrington Residents Association)

  • Contacts: 
  • Aims: Covering the 700 homes occupying Castle Park, Saxons Plain and Barley Grange Estate we aim to:
    • ensure the amenities being provided are for the benefit of all households within the estate
    • ensure that clear information is provided by the Management Company that is of interest to all residents of the estate
    • act as a focal point for residents if required on community matters within the estate focusing on encouraging the growth of a community spirit through social activities and events
  • Membership requirements: Membership is open to all residents within the estate. A maximum of two members per property shall be allowed to hold membership of the group and vote on payment of the annual membership fee (for fee details contact Chairman)
