Adur sustainable energy SPD update (consultation)
Adur District Council undertook a period of public consultation on an update to the Adur sustainable energy supplementary planning document (SPD), which closed on 30th November 2023. The council is now considering the comments submitted.
Parts of the current guidance are no longer applicable since the introduction of new national Building Regulations in June 2022. These have significantly reduced permitted energy use and carbon emissions from new development.
The updated guidance focuses on reducing energy use and carbon emissions further through reducing energy demand, increasing energy efficiency and incorporating onsite renewable and low carbon energy generation.
The consultation closed on 30th November 2023.
