Adur Homes - new sites: Daniel Close and Gravelly Crescent, Lancing

About the site

Adur Homes logo (145)

These two garage sites, which are owned by Adur District Council, were identified as part of the Council's Hidden Homes study which looked at ways that new affordable housing could be developed to provide good quality homes for local people.

We're building 7 two-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom homes in Daniel Close and a one-bedroom, 2 two-bedroom and 4 three-bedroom homes in Gravelly Crescent.

After the sites have been cleared and the foundations have been prepared, the new houses will be assembled using factory-built modules - a modern method of construction which means less waste plus far less disruption from building work for citizens living nearby.

The new houses will be highly insulated and therefore will be energy efficient and cheaper to run for our future tenants.

Our contractors have begun the process of clearing our old garage compounds in Daniel Close and Gravelly Crescent in Lancing to make way for new council homes.

Teams moved onto Gravelly Crescent last week to demolish the dozens of garages, which will be replaced with 16 sustainable council homes with gardens.

We expect that site will be cleared this week. The removal of the Daniel Close garages is due to happen in June.

Work to remove our old garage compounds in Daniel Close has begun, with our contractors taking down the first structures.

On Friday (14th June) the demolition team moved onto the site and quickly got to work, separating materials into piles to be recycled as they went.
